While the London
Olympics are close to end, Recuperat-ion is interested in another international
event, more epic and confidential. The
ninth edition of the Mont Blanc
will be held starting August 27 until September 2nd.

166 km with an elevation gain of about 9,400 metres… this is the menu of UTMB, the main event of
this annual gathering for all the ultra-runners.
Passing through three
countries, France, Switzerland and Italy, the race is equivalent to a Mont
Blanc grand tour. Participants will have 46 hours to complete this challenge
and reach the finish in Chamonix. But organizers also offer two versions more
accessible with shorter routes. CCC (Courmayeur-Champex-Chamonix) extends over
98km with an elevation
of about 5600m. The TDS (In the Footsteps of the Dukes
of Savoy) is a 110km run with
an elevation gain of about 7100m.
Nearly 5,000 fans will
gather this year on all formats: the Mont Blanc Ultra Trail is a must for all
runners. Among them, Jornet is probably the one that has most influenced the
history of this event by winning the 2008 editions, 2009 and 2011. This Spaniard
has forged his legend in the Alps, in a sublime environment, suitable to all exploits.
